  • Why should I volunteer at Loma?
Our school and the Home & School Club run on volunteers! We can't do it without the help of parents who are excited to participate in their children's education and activities. Kids LOVE seeing their parents at school, and it's a great opportunity to meet your child's classmates.
  • What are the volunteering requirements?
All school volunteers need: a current TB evaluation evidence of completed COVID-19 vaccination depending on current requirements - a negative rapid COVID test, taken at the front desk before beginning a volunteer shift
  • What is a Room Parent?
Room parents coordinate activities in the classroom, seasonal parties, teacher gifts, and are the teacher's liaison between class parents and HSC. A room parent's role is mostly organizational and much of this work can be done at home.
  • How can I volunteer during school hours?
School day volunteer shifts include Project Cornerstone, library volunteers, garden volunteers, and yard duty. These assignments are generally set and scheduled the first month of the school year with your Teacher (or the Principal for yard duty).
  • How can I volunteer outside of school hours if I work full time?
Yearbook - The Loma yearbook is created each year entirely by parent volunteers. Each class needs one or two volunteers to gather pictures from the year and assemble the class page/s in the spring. This is a fun and creative volunteer activity that you can do at your own pace and mostly from home. Home & School Club Events - The Home & School Club runs a number of events throughout the year, like the Boo Bash, Jogathon, family picnics, movie nights, and Teacher Spa Day. All of these events need parent volunteers. These are easy "one-and-done" volunteer opportunities great for parents who need to fit volunteering into a busy schedule. Home & School Club Board - The Home & School Club Board is responsible for managing Home & School Club events, fundraising, volunteers, and making sure that our kids have a great experience at Loma! Many jobs can be done mostly on your own schedule without a large time commitment.
